I have been trying to maintain my Web presence with an Apple iPod Air. Text is okay, but Apple iOS appears to strip metadata from my photos regardless of my wishes. That frustrates my efforts to share data with readers.*
As a solution I will try embedding photos from Flickr. Then readers may click to get descriptions and metadata or to download high resolution copies.
This way a minimal caption should be sufficient for most readers. One click will reveal a more complete description, technical metadata, and download opportunities.
My current photography workflow depends on digiKam running on a Fedora Linux workstation. I backup to a commercial service and share my photos on Flickr. Perhaps embedding from Flickr into Shiga Rivers posts will save time and help me share my photos with more people who would like to use them for non-commercial purposes.
*I have been a Unix / BSD / Linux user since the mid-1980s, so I prefer keyboard commands to pointer selections, I automate a lot with my own software, and I expect my data to be retained until I delete it.
